Description
DIAGONAL CUTTING PLIERS
Combination pliers, also known as lineman’s pliers, are a versatile hand tool that combines multiple functions into one. They typically have three main parts:
- Gripping jaws with smooth and serrated surfaces for gripping round, flat, and irregular shaped objects.
- Wire cutters near the joint of the pliers for cutting wire and cable.
- Crimping die (on some models) for crimping electrical connectors.
Combination pliers are a staple tool for electricians, plumbers, mechanics, and general DIYers. They are used for a variety of tasks, including:
- Gripping wires and cables
- Cutting wire and cable
- Bending and shaping metal
- Stripping wire insulation (with the proper technique)
- Crimping electrical connectors (on models with a crimping die)
When choosing combination pliers, consider the size, jaw style, and material. Pliers are available in a variety of sizes, from mini pliers for delicate work to large pliers for heavy-duty applications. Jaw styles include straight, angled, and curved jaws. Pliers are typically made of forged steel for strength and durability.
