ANGLE SQUARE(METRIC AND INCH)
An angle square, also sometimes called a rafter square or try square, is a tool used in carpentry, metalworking, and other trades to check for or create right angles (90 degrees) and other angles. There are two main types of angle squares:
- Try squares: A try square typically has a long, flat blade with a shorter blade that extends out at a 90-degree angle from the end. The long blade is used to be placed against the edge of a workpiece, and the shorter blade is used to check if another surface is perpendicular (at a 90-degree angle) to the first surface.
- Rafter squares:A rafter square is similar to a try square, but it has two arms that are both the same length and meet at a 90-degree angle. Rafter squares are often used for marking and cutting rafters, which are the sloping beams that support a roof. They can also be used to check for squareness in other applications.

Angle squares can be made of wood, metal, or plastic. Metal squares are the most durable and are typically used in professional settings.
Here are some other types of angle squares:
- Combination squares: A combination square is a versatile tool that combines the functions of a try square, a level, and a ruler.
- Speed squares:A speed square is a triangular carpenter’s square that combines the functions of a combination square, try square, and framing square into one tool.
- Adjustable squares:An adjustable square has a protractor that allows the user to set the angle to any degree between 0 and 180 degrees.
