WOOD FILES

Wood files, also sometimes called wood rasps, are hand tools used in woodworking to shape and smooth wood surfaces. They come in various shapes and sizes to tackle different tasks:

• Removing material: For quickly removing larger chunks of wood, you’ll want a rasp. Rasps have a coarser tooth compared to a file, which allows them to remove material faster
• Smoothing surfaces: After shaping with a rasp, you can use a file to smooth out the surface. Files come in varying degrees of tooth coarseness, allowing you to achieve a very smooth finish.
• Shaping specific contours: There are different shapes of wood files available, like flat, half-round, and round. These different shapes allow you to precisely shape wood to fit your project’s needs.
